Ben had a dram. Grandma sent it to him for his birthday.
She lived far away.
Trump, Trump! Ben played.
"Go away!" his father said. "I'm watching TV."
Br-rump!,br-rump! Ben pounded his drum in the kitchen.
"Go-away!" his mother said. "I'm baking."
Boomp-a-boomp! Ben marched down the street.
"Go away!" everybody said.
"I have a headache,"said one.
"My baby is asleep" said another.
"Nobody wants to hear me play" said Ben.
Mr.Gray lived alone. "Come in" he said. Heclosed the windows.
He shut the door. He watched Ben plays.
Br-rump!,br-rump!went Ben's drum. Boom-boom!
"I like to watch you play,"Mr.Gray said. "Come again soon"
Ben smiled. Mr.Gray smiled too. After Ben left, Mr.Gray opened
the windows. Then he turned on his hearing aid. Mr.Gray was
hard of hearing.
"I'm glad I can turn this thing off."said Mr.Gray.
"That drum must make an auful noise!"
